About Us
Brad found a saddle tree, leather, hardware and enough tools to get the job done. He built his first saddle, decided to sell it, using the proceeds to purchase the supplies for a second. After seeking the advice of local cowboys and other saddle makers, Brad built and sold his second saddle. In 1986, Brad Mastre Saddlery was born!
Brad began in the rural, desert community of Bruneau, ID, moved to Bonner’s Ferry, ID, and ultimately settled in Burns, OR. In 2011, his oldest son, Mark, joined him in the business, making saddles and other leather goods. Another son, Doug, braids rawhide gear. Together, they offer high-quality saddles, chinks, headstalls, reins and other types of gear needed by the working cowboy.
In addition to the saddle shop, the family runs their own cow/calf operation. Mark and Doug also start and train outside horses. The Mastre's use what they make, ensuring it is as functional as it is beautiful.
